About RSS

What is RSS?

RSS stands for either "Rich Site Summary" or "Really Simple Syndication". It is an XML-based technology that transmits a collection of information to your computer via a "feed" or "reader". You can easily become a subscriber to a site's RSS feed by simply obtaining the correct code and inputing it into your RSS feed/reader of choice. Once subscribed, content from the site will be automatically "syndicated" onto your reader allowing you to keep track of updates directly from your reader.

Why is RSS Useful?

RSS allows you to easily keep track of a number of your favorite websites without individually visiting each site. The content of your subscribed sites will be directly sent to your reader and displayed like an email message with a synopsis of each article/entry and a link to take you directly to the actual site where you can view the content in its entirety.

That's it!
